DUKE OF EDINBURGH PROGRAM.
Due to For Life Experiences reputation for delivering safe, high quality, fun, educational fishing programs we are approved by HCC to provide Duke of Edinburgh fishing skills programs.
The D of E program is a progressive course which will lead participants through a variety of different fishing disciplines. Using a blend of practical and classroom based learning sessions participants will gain a greater knowledge of tactics, methods, fish care, waterside safety, the environment, bait, watercraft, weather patterns and modern tackle and its uses.
Our aim is to produce competent junior fishing coaches, who will educate others and lead by example. The course will run for six sessions covering pole, float, feeder, carp, pike and match angling. The emphasis of the course will be on fun with lots of practical tasks.
The sessions will count towards three months of skills training. We hope that participants will continue to pursue their D of E by becoming active coaches, volunteering their time to train newcomers to the world of angling. This voluntary coaching will go towards the service sector of the D of E.
We run these sessions at the famous Broadlands Lake. Broadlands has three lakes stocked with a variety of species. This allows participants to really progress during the three month period.
DURING OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER STUDENTS FROM REDBRIDGE SCHOOL COMPLETED THEIR SKILLS COURSE. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE! SEE THEIR PICTURES ON THE GALLERY.
