EDUCATION OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM WITH FLE

ASDAN 6 SESSION COURSES

For Life Experiences is proud to be offering educational experiences for both adults and youngsters. Let our friendly ADB level 2 qualified coaches educate you outside of the classroom using fishing as a way of learning.

FLE strongly believe in experiential learning as a means of personal development and the following quote was taken from the government manifesto of outdoor learning – 2006 in which FLE was one of the first organisations to sign up too:

“We believe that every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability or circumstances.”

Many of our staff have studied at Sparsholt College and have a vast knowledge of the fish industry; other members of our staff are accredited practitioners of outdoor learning. FLE believes strongly in the value of experiential learning in the outdoors to improve peoples social, personal and group skills. FLE’s Angling and Outdoor Pursuit Centre is now an approved ASDAN short course provider and deliver courses to the highest standards. On completion of our ASDAN course students receive certificates and ASDAN credits which can count towards GCSE’s.

For Life Experiences have been working hard over the last few years to gain a recognised reputation within the community and now work in partnership with many different councils and schools.

INTRODUCTION TO FISHERY MANAGEMENT

Once participants have visited the college as part of their FFL course the aim is for them to become re-engaged in school and education, resulting in a successfull application to the college in the future.  Our IFM courses run throughout the year and each half term focus on a different education area including MATH, ENGLISH and ENVIRONMENT.

ENTRY INTO COLLEGE AND FURTHER EDUCATION

FLE does not have any influence over who is accepted into Sparsholt College and it is up to the individuals to go to the open days, work hard at school and get the required grades FLE will however do all we can to help, support and mentor people so that they can achieve their own success.  Many of our FLE Pro Staff left school without direction or good grades but went back to education and excelled at Sparsholt once they realised what they wanted to achieve in life.  FLE is not a School, we do not provide miracles, we just try to re-engage people back into the educational system so that they can make positive change for themselves.  Please visit http://www.sparsholt.ac.uk/pages/course_index.aspx to veiw available Sparsholt Courses, Open Day Information and to see the entry requirements for each course.
